I read about your extras' casting call. (Thoughts from the amazing Avalon's Willow here.)
So,the main characters have to be white, but the folks in the background can be ethnic? Not only that, but extras who are auditioning are encouraged to wear garments that emphasize their ethnicity, their "Otherness." Not to mention that the casting director does not even seem to be aware of the difference between Korean and Japanese. ("If you're Korean, wear a kimono." Except that traditional Korean garb is not a kimono.) What does it matter, they're all Asians after all, right? And they all look alike to us white folks!
